Cheyenne resident John Nemecek was the high bidder to have his name in a book at the Cheyenne Frontier Days Volunteer Crisis Fund dinner. He didn't know at the time his name would be used as Nate Romanowski's one-time mentor and nemesis in FORCE OF NATURE (2012).
Montana-based long-haul truckers Butch and Dana Preston were kind enough to let C.J. Box tag along in their truck from Billings to Chicago in February of 2012. The purpose of the trip was to help with research for a future stand-alone tentatively called THE HIGHWAY. The Prestons couldn't have been better hosts.
